Google Chrome offers ad privacy settings by which you can decide which kind of ads you want to see and block those that you don’t. This can be done by enabling/disabling Active topics.
To do this, access Chrome privacy settings by typing in:
chrome://settings/privacy
From the Privacy and Security section, click on Ad privacy.
Next, click on Ad topics.
This lists the different categories of ads under Active topics that are currently enabled. Active topics are based on your browsing history and are auto-deleted after 4 weeks.
To block specific categories, click the Block button next to them. Blocking certain ad categories or disabling personalized ads doesn’t mean you’ll see fewer ads, just different ones.
Also, when this is enabled, personalized ads based on your browsing history are displayed. By turning this option off, you can disable personalized ads in Chrome if needed.
All done.
