The new Microsoft Edge browser has limited but some useful add-ons. For directly sharing the links of open tabs with others, Group tabs & share add-on by Microsoft comes in handy.
Download and install it from here.
After it is installed, it will show up as an icon next to the Edge address bar.
Using it is easy, simply click on it. The open tabs will be listed along with their URLs.
You can then select the different tab links to be shared by selecting them. Also, you can export tabs from the active window or all the Edge windows.
Group tabs & share can then share them in different formats like plain URLs, HTML, CSV, and JSON. Other than that, you can also share them on WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Microsoft Teams.
Select the tab links as needed and choose an option on how to share them.
URLs only:
This is the default option. With this, you can directly copy the tab links to the clipboard by selecting Copy to Clipboard.
Title and URL both:
Choosing this will copy the URLs with the title of the pages. Again, this will be copied to the clipboard.
HTML:
For downloading the tab links as an HTML file, choose HTML from the Format section. Then click on Download as HTML.
This file can then be opened in any other browser.
CSV:
Similarly, for downloading the tab links as a CSV file that can be opened as a spreadsheet, choose CSV from the Format section. Then click on Download as CSV.
The downloaded CSV file can then be viewed and shared as a spreadsheet.
JSON:
Select JSON as the required format and click on Download as JSON for the tab links to be saved.
Also, if you’d like to restore the default add-on settings, select Restore default settings.
You can also move the add-on icon back and forth from the address bar to the menu by right-clicking and selecting Move to the menu.
The icon will then be visible only by clicking on the Edge menu.
By default, Group tabs & share is disabled when InPrivate mode is enabled. You can enable it by right-clicking on the add-on icon and selecting Manage Extension.
Then enable the option of Allow in InPrivate.
This is a simple and useful add-on for the new Microsoft Edge browser that makes collaboration and sharing easier.
