It is possible in Windows 7 to change the size of text displayed on the screen without changing the screen resolution.

To change the text on screen between smaller, medium or larger :

1. Right click on empty space on the desktop and select Screen resolution.

2. Then click on the link Make text and other items larger or smaller.

3. Finally select the text size that you want to keep and click on Apply. This will bring up a dialog box that will ask to either log off now for the changes to take place or apply them later.

[ The other and longer way to do the same thing is to first click on Windows orb, then go to Control Panel, then select Display and finally change the text size but right clicks are there for a reason – they provide quicker way to do things as above 🙂 ]
