How To Safely Upgrade Or Uninstall Graphic Card Drivers

When upgrading device driver for existing graphic card or uninstalling for a new one, it is a good idea to make sure that there are no driver conflicts so as to ensure smooth performance.

Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) is a useful freeware that does just that. Based on what needs to be done : erase existing drivers for installing new ones or completely wipe the driver for uninstall the graphics card, DDU offers a simple point and click interface.

To use it, first boot Windows in safe mode and then choose from any of the existing options that are listed.

If the upgrade or changing drivers requires the source to be Windows Update instead of the driver that comes with card manufacturer, select the option Set Windows Update driver installation to default.

Once the required options are selected, the tool will automatically remove the drivers and restart/shutdown Windows.

This is a very useful tool to use which helps avoiding driver conflicts and makes driver/card upgrade go smoothly.
