Here is how to completely disable having your chat history being stored or searched when using Gmail :
1. Login to Gmail and click the gear icon, then select Mail settings.
2. Go to Chat section and change the radio button from default of “Save chat history” to “Never save chat history”.
3. Hit “Save changes”.
All done, from now on the chat history won’t be searchable or saved in the Chat link in Gmail.
