Quickly Access Shared Network Folders In Windows

It is not really necessary to go every time to Network and select a computer where shared network folder is hosted.

One old way to avoid this is to map a network drive.

But there is a cooler way too and is right in front of you in Windows.

In any of the Windows explorer address bar, just access the shared computer by first clicking on the down arrow as shown and typing  \\ and the computer name followed by the name of the network share which you want to access.

Example : If there is a shared folder by name of Top_Secret  [why would it be shared anyway ?”] 🙂 on a computer named WorldDom, just type in \\WorldDom\Top_Secret to get to the folder.

It is quicker and is very similar to how you type in web addresses to access sites on internet.
